We read the book very quickly as my children coerced me into reading several chapters at a time. The books are long enough to engross a young reader. I would also argue the Mr Majeika series of books would make a great addition for a Primary School Library or Classroom Book collection too (Reading Comprehension and so on). My kids loved it!/5(44). It was a pleasure to read this book again simply due to the fact that I was an avid reader as a child, and the Mr Majeika series stands out in my memory. This book focuses on the adventures of a group of schoolchildren with their teacher Mr Majeika, who despite trying to live as a teacher is often unable to conceal his real identity as a wizard/5.   Mr Majeika, 2. Mr Majeika and the School Trip, 3. Mr Majeika and the Lost Spell Book, 4. Mr Majeika and the Ghost Train, 5. Mr Majeika and the Dinner Lady, 6. Mr Majeika and the School Caretaker, 7. Mr Majeika may teach at St Barty’s, an ordinary primary school, but he’s no ordinary teacher Mr Majeika is a wizard! In the first book his arrival at the school sees him flying into Class Three through the window on a magic carpet.

Mr Majeika can behave just like any ordinary teacher if he wants to, but something has to be done about Hamish Bigmore, the class nuisance, and so he uses a little magic to turn him into a frog. And to everyone’s delight it looks as if Hamish will have to remain a frog because Mr Majeika can’t remember the spell to turn him back again! Mr Majeika and the Lost Spell Book Fun and magic combine as usual in this new Mr Majeika story. The pupils in Class 3 at St Barty's School are not impressed when their headteacher imposes strict rules of behaviour for Halloween.
